The Golden Horn Beach Croatia

The Golden Horn is probably the most spectacular of Croatia's beaches. It is just in front of the small village named Bol on the island of Brac, the highest Croatia island standing opposite of Makarska Riviera.

It is a vast, golden pebble beach. Almost 580 yards long, it is known as the " "Zlatni Rat" (Golden Horn). The beach has a unique shape, like a white tongue stretched into the sea.

It is unique also for the fact that it changes shape and position, depending on the wind. The setting is sublime - the mountains over the beach, blue clear water on your left and right, the sound of the waves on the pebbles, a gentle breeze.

Because of its positions, it offers various summer sport activities and it attracts tourists from all over the world, who enjoy the sun, the sea and water sports. The beach offers: self-service restaurant, cafes, parachute rides, pedal boats, jet-ski, banana boats, four windsurfing schools, SSI scuba diving school, beach volleyball, and many other things to do.

The beach is protected from the sea with safety nets, and only the tip of the beach is free for surfers - many international races and cups are organized here.

The village of Bol is an internationally famous windsurfers' destination. Many consider it the most beautiful place to go windsurfing on the Adriatic. The "Maestral" (summer wind) blows in a channel between the islands of Hvar and Brac. It is stronger on this side of the coast than anywhere else, and it appears every afternoon almost without exception.
