FLORENT MALOUDA has been thrown a career lifeline by former club Lyon.
Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has banished the France winger, 32, to train with the Blues’ youth team after leaving him out of their Champions League squad.
Malouda, a £13million buy from Lyon in 2007, has now approached the French club about a return.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said: “Our door is always open to former players.
“Malouda has been in contact with our coaching team recently.
