THIS is the British couple whose two-year-old daughter was taken into care during a booze binge in Portugal.
Teachers Stephen Street, 42, and Colette McPartland, 38, were spotted returning from a supermarket after pleading: “It’s lies — we want her back.”
Cops pounced on Monday night after finding the toddler in tears near a busy road 100 yards from her parents, who were downing wine in a bar.
The couple were said to have become abusive when police approached them at the popular Manhas do Chocolate coffee shop in the town of Carcavelos and their daughter Scarlett was taken into the care of social services.
Cops posted a photo of an officer feeding the toddler on their Facebook page.
Yesterday the couple were seen loaded down with grocery bags — one of which appeared to contain nappies.
And on Thursday locals spotted Mr Street clutching a teddy bear as the pair caught a taxi to visit Scarlett.
One said: “If I saw them again I would give them a box round the ears.” Scarlett is believed to be in the custody of authorities in nearby Oeiras.
A spokesman declined to comment but prosecutors may still decide to take further action against her parents, who have denied doing anything wrong.
